Anyone running two skimmers on large setups?

I'm about to embark on a 600+ gallon setup. Was about to get a 300BK skimmer but thought, why not two MSK-300's?
Maybe I'm missing something but besides more upkeep on my part, wouldn't the SPS corals be just as happy with the two skimmers?
I plan to feed heavily, filtering a 500+ main tank, 180 sump, and 100 gal SPS prop tank.
Thanks for sharing any experiences/opinions!

Thank you Sandy. Will take some time to read thru the whole thing. Especially like the way they use large containers to hold RO and saltwater so neatly.

anyone have Calfo's old skimmer thread handy? he discusses the benefits of two skimmers, one skimming wet, the other dry, producing two different types of waste organics, also discusses skimming in general, full of pearls... I've tried to find it but no luck

Nanook, what make and type are those skimmers and on what system? they look like beckets

The large one is a needlewheel monstrosity created by Geo. The skinny one is a quad beckett built by Jeff at Marine Technical Concepts.

The Geo needlewheel takes a lot more out than the quad beckett!

I run a heavily modified asm g6 running dry and a smaller very modified geo 8" chamber 30" tall running wet and get great results on a 600+ gallon system.
