Anyone see GHA in a reef?

I've never seen any type of pest algae. like green hair algae in an actuall reef. Has anyone? everytime i go snorkeling, i've never seen cyano or gha, nothing like that.

i've seen reefs overrun by hair algae. you know what you DON'T see on those reefs? longspine sea urchins. I also have seen cyano many times. you see that where there is very little current.

oh...well, it seems like every reef i've dived at had a TON of long spine urchins...i assume they eat GHA?

I agree, the Caymans are loaded with long spine urchins, but I haven't seen any GHA.

Diving off west palm, and jupiter (FL) you can find clumps here and there. There are some interesting macro algae fields too.

I've seen bubble algae... Glad it wasn't just in the tanks
