ON PBS tonight I watched a epsiode about scuba diving in antartica and the underwater and above water ecosystem, mostly underwater though. Drilling thru 6feet of ice and diving in to waters that are 28 degrees
Did anyone catch this, If was very interesting. A sea anemone caught a huge jellyfish, because the jelly fish got stuck in current which dragged it to the bottom floor, which is only about 90 feet or so and was having it for lunch. They showed Bristle stars chasing after white sea stars. I didnt know that bristle stars cold survive in such cold waters.
also, showed a soft coral grazing the top of sand for food. It adopted this style to survive.
I dont see it being on again, but they are doing a special if you have comcast on
Nature : Oceans in Glass: Behind the Scenes at the Monterey Bay Aquarium
Thursday, July 6, 5:00pm
A look at California's Monterey Bay Aquarium.
IF someone has a DVR recorder that can burn to dvd, Id really like to watch that one.
