I just got two from gateway they were $7.00 each. They had more but if they run out you can have one of mine for a frag.

If you read the whole thread and the one linked to another forum, there were some reports of issues with snail loss and some soft coral bleaching.

I've helped people with bryopsis problems in this manner for years. It works well. However, if you normally go to the LFS to have your water tested, now is the time to get your own test kits because it does mess with Calcium and alkalinity parameters.
Additionally, if you normally use Oceanic salt, when it's time to restore your parameters to better match NSW, it will be darn-near impossible because Oceanic is skewed to have higher than normal Magnesium.

Kind of a combo.

That was done initially to get to the desired Magnesium level. You would end up with big time sulfate problems if you used Epsom Salts or similar to get your Magnesium high enough. Then I had them use Epsom salts to keep them there so that's why it's kind of a combo.
To be honest with you, Randy's two part recipe didn't exist back then so we had to use commercial products.

I started using my standard maintaince solution of 5:3 Epson to Magflake but after doing some more reading I think I'm going to switch to 10:1 to raise the Mg++ to 1500ppm and then use the 5:3 to maintain it.
