Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the guy on fleabay that sells the stick on LEDs in pre wired strings. I know you get what you pay for but just wanted some first hand reviews.
I know they aren't Cree's but I cant tell from the videos how the color really looks.
I just got my led hoods from auraled set up this weekend and i love them so far. I have them on my 265. They are awesome especially for the price but only time will tell how corals like them. Im one of the first people using these lights so ill be like a guinne pig for everyone else to see if they work long term lol. The guy who runs the company is really cool and consults with you through the whole process. I would recomend you contact him directly
Has anyone else purchased the Auraleds recently for their tanks and if so, has anyone done any Par tests on these. Although I know there are several led lights out there are far superior in their lighting, not everybody can afford them. That's why something such as the Auraleds seems to enticing! I am currently looking for led lighting for my 210 that is not going to cost me over a thousand if possible and still do the job!
Aqualvr:spin2:
I dont have the par values to back me up on this but i do know for absolute fact that these leds are much cheaper than the diy route. my tank is 7 feet long and 31 inches deep so i would have spent a pretty penny getting the coverage and penetration i needed. I currently have 2 clams on the sand bed and I have a pavona on the sandbed. they are all doing great and the pavona is growing very fast. thats some pretty good penetration if you ask me. i dont need a par meter to know that these leds are kickin butt on my tank. ill post my build thread with all the pics so you guys can see my tank.
this is my build thread with a ton of pics. check it out. and hey if anyone gets lights from these guys, do me a favor and tell them that will kent reffered you
I have a 220g tank and just purchased an Auraled hood and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I hope its as good as the owner Rob Wood makes it out to be.
I will. Talking to the owner of Auraled (for what its worth) led me to the purchase. He assured me that at 30" deep that the light should be close to 1000 par. But I know its easy to say whatever to sell a product. Guess we will see when I get it.
I don't k.ow much about par readings, but most refers are thrilled to have 120 par on the sand...1000 sounds completely outrageous. If that was true I bet it would be far too much light.
you should tell him to make another youtube video of him taking par readings..
that would ease everones mind and more people would buy his product..
1000 par sounds over the top..
i am interested still..
someone make some moves and get to the bottom of this!
From what I was told about par ratings, anything around 250 will sustain life, anything around 400 will grow life, and anything over 800 will grow life to show quality. Im not sure how accurate that is, but thats what I was told.
Does anyone know where to get a par meter. And about how much they cost. I will check the readings when I get it set up if the meter isnt crazy expensive.
