Anyone try AuraLed?

Robert Wood took the Auraled project with him when he split from Allbrite Signs on July 1, 2011. At that point, he absorbed all clients past & present as well as the liabilities associated. I have not spoken with him since the split. Other contact information should be available through Ebay, or the business email auraled@hotmail.com.

Respectfully,

Mark St. Clair

Interesting. I assume you are trying to distance yourself from the failed Auraled venture so as not to affect the Allbrite Sign business. The problem is that my payment was to YOUR paypal account. So...please understand my skepticism.

If you were really not a part of the Auraled venture I'm sorry that you are being dragged into this. However, I paid YOU (Marc St. Clair) $550 as verified by Paypal. It stands to reason that I would look to you for a refund when the purchase conditions were not met. If you can back up legally your assertion that Rob "absorbed the liabilities" and/or Paypal is making a mistake on this, then I need to know ASAP.

Actually, I had no idea that Auraled was facing such problems until I saw these posts. I am truly sorry that that such a great idea has had so many issues. As it stands, Robert Wood officially absorbed Auraled clients (past & present) as well as the liabilities in an Asset division agreement that was duly enacted & notarized. Robert and I split for reasons other than Auraled and since he had spearheaded the project, and was the reef enthusiast, I took no claim and allowed him to walk away with it. I am sorry for your predicament, but the agreement stands. An earlier post has the correct phone number for Rob, and if legal inquiries are made, I will gladly post a copy of the division agreement. So yes, I am distancing myself, but only through the agreement. I will check this post regularly, so if there are more questions, I will answer them.]

Important message for people ripped off by Auraled:

1) If you paid for the Auraled fixture via paypal and it is currently NOT operating or meeting Auraled's claims, open a paypay dispute ASAP even if you are beyond the 45-day buyer protection window. If Paypal receives a "large" number of disputes against a seller they may open a claim even if the 45 days has passed. I do not know how many disputes this requires, but it's worth a shot.

2) Open a dispute with the BBB at https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint/ The info I used:
NAME: Auraled Lighting Systems, ADDRESS: 5121 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Ste A2, Norfolk, VA 23502, PHONE: 757 462-9108 They will ask you for documentation. You can either fax or mail them printouts of the emails you received, ebay post (if applicable) & receipt.

If Paypal &/or the BBB can't provide resolution, the next step is to file a complaint with the FTC. I've decided this is too much money to just let it go.

Im on the band wagon here with Fryman. My auraled fixture is aweful, and due to the size of my tank I dropped over $1000 on this piece of crap fixture. I just filed a claim through paypal and they said I was past the claim date, but if there was a bunch more claims within the next 180 days they would look into the situation further. So Im asking all of my fellow reefers out there that got ripped of by buying these lights and paid with paypal to make a claim even if you are past the 45 day limit. Maybe if enough of us complain they will try to get us our money back. I have had my fixture for about 6 months now and have lost both of my anemones and several corals, along with a few of the led's that stopped working. So please do not hesitate to file a paypal claim. If enough of us make our voices heard maybe something positive can come out of this dark situation for all of us involved with this lighting scam.

I too filed a claim with Paypal. They also said it was past the 45 day limit, but left the window open if there are enough claims. These leds turned out to be crap and now my corals are paying the price. Oh and my $500!

Its pretty ridiculous that paypal only gives a 45 day window. The window should vary with certain products like these lights. In most cases it takes a few months before you really start to see the negative effects of poor lighting in our tanks. I suggest everyone that bought these lights to call the Virginia Attorney General and complain. Im hoping that enough of us will do this and get some justice. Its bad enough that we paid all this money for these lights, but Rob Wood is a coral and anemone murderer by guaranteeing these lights will be great and then tucking his tail between his legs and running when they dont pan out and he cant handle all the complaints. It really sucks that our corals and anemones have to pay the price for a P.O.S fixture that didnt pan out and a hot shot salesman that cant keep his word. I seriously feel violated by this and hope to get my money back. I know its a longshot, and most likely wont happen, but its still worth a shot. I really hope that all of us here will call the Virginia Attorney General and file a complaint, because I really want to get some justice here. It sucks that now I am scrambling for money to buy a fixture that is gonna work properly and keep everything alive and well. Im sorry I keep rambling on but I am incredibly frustrated with this whole situation. This definitely makes me never want to take a companies word and try a product that isnt completely proven again, and its a shame.

I got burned!

I got burned!

Greetings all,

I bought a used 125 with a auraled hood.
over half have burned out and not sure what direction to go.

I am looking at a Rapid LED solution?

Soliciting ideas!

thanks

If you want to stay with leds and dont want to go the diy route check out either the "radion leds" or "acan leds." They are both reputable companies that will back up their product. Plus they both use full spectrum leds and not just the whites and blues.

Hi Bubba,
Thanks for the info. I am ok w/ DIY and actually prefer it.

What did you end up doing?

I have a quote from Rapid for $ 800.00 to replace what I have. (36 B, 36W, 4Red)

your thoughts?

Thanks again!
Drew

Unfortunately I am still saving, but after this auraled scam I am going back to t5s I am gonna get the 60" ATI powermodule 10x80 watt fixture. I know that the cree leds are great and that there are several led fixtures that are excellent but this whole experience with Auraled put a bad taste in my mouth for leds. Plus I dont like rhe look of the diy stuff and im not a good enough craftsman to make them look nice.

Is anyone still using their Arualeds??
I am going to part mine out to those who are trying to keep it going....

any interest?
