Anyone try collecting natural seawater?

I have been collecting and using it in my reef since I started it in 1971. It's still running and is 54 years old.

I take it right from the shore on Long Island New York. Now where I live I have an algae problem because I live surrounded by farms and golf courses so there is way to much fertilizer in it so I will wait until winter to collect it again or go farther out east
