I was thinking of adding it to the refuge. Build a small box for the screen to slide into and light from both sides. Overflow from main tank would go through here to the refugium.
Was reading a thread (might've been talked about in here actually) where they were talking about tank longevity and one guy actually had an algea trough that he built that ran off this basic concept. He had a Reverse Undergravel Filter that he ran on a 40 year old tank, and had never experienced a problem. Didn't have any kind of refugium running on his tank if I remember correctly.
They used to use the same basic concept at the Pittsburgh Zoo, execpt on a quite larger scale. They had the screens laid out in troughs in a greenhouse. It only used one side of the screen, but the same basic concept. I'm guessing but it was about 10 to 12 years ago.
