Anyone up for another 135 Thread?

Aww, lucky me, I have a lfs that is currently highering, and I can say this with unwavering certainty, it is the BEST store in the United States! They QT everything before it is ever put out for sale, awsome service, water testing, great salt and freshwater selection, good drygoods, and about a million other things! Just thought I would mention it, seeign as how it is SOO rare. Also have fun on your trip superswimmer!

We have a pretty good LFS around here...decent fish, GREAT corals! I might work there if they need me. My sister works at Quiznos, and might put in good word for me! Free sub every shift! suhWEET!

I swim. So i don't work, and my parents don't force me to do it, most of my money is b-day/x mass saved and hording the change i get from when my parents give me money to go out.

The LFS around my neck of the woods are O.K. decent corals/fish, i have to go round like hours outa my day to get to one for this and the other for that. I like ordering online. Needless to say, i dont go to the LFS too much. hey tyler, you should think of setting up a prop tank! That would be way cool =more money and some stuff for us..cough.

Did i mention I'm going to Hawaii this Saturday! Maui is the island. Instead of fish observing me in my domain. I will observe them in theirs....ooooo... the twilight zone.... [/B]

I went to Hawaii last summer. Your going to love it. I think all we did was snorkel right off of the coast. We didn't even go on one of those tours we justed asked the local people where the best spots were and went. We also did the Road To Hana which was pretty fun as well.

Anyway it seems like your tank is coming along nicely. I don't have a job and wonder sometimes where I come up with all of the money that I spend. I don't even have a job, I only babysit once and a while but the rest just seems to show up or I get it from my GF.

hehe, I'd do that once I get this monster under control
But I do have the tank, and space for it, so it's a definite possibility. Once I get a job...imagine the possibilities! If I can do this much with hoarding/saving, I wonder how fun it will be will regular income!

And keeping this thread reef-related still, my Colt coral looks like it's finally settled in. It's very full/open/perky today.

Cool...but how did this turn from a new tank thread into a thread about federal wage laws? :p

paul, that's crazy...that's a really unique Maxima then...:)

they just recently raised the min wage here , i thik its like 6.50 or something now....

it was a hassle to get my parents to get me a tank, and now they like it so much their like ooocan we get this?

its weird they offer to buy stuff that i dont like, but the stuf i do like i have to pay for on my own...lol

mmK!

I finally have some pictures. Stole the camera for a lil while my sister was still at chorus. Basically the same pictures as always, except some corals are a little bigger. Still no monti shot, I didn't have enough time to get a good one

Colt after turning on a halide (still trying to get him acclimated to higher lighting)

Xenia (grown a lot and starting to spread)

Devil's Hand (can't really tell if it's grown)

No full tank shot, as I was rushed :(
I just got 2 55g drums, for WC and TO. I'm going to fit each with a bulkhead just above my sump line, and plumb that into the sump; that way, when I plumb it, and put on a ball valve, just open a valve and voilà, WC (or topoff). That should be set up soon. Once I do that, I can start getting into a regular WC schedule, and the tank will look better due to that. Also, there will be an aquascaping endeavor this weekend. I'm taking a few more rocks out to fry in some RO water, and I figure if I'm doing that, why not just reaquascape? The way I have it makes it tough to mount stuff. We'll see...more updates soon :)

Oh yes, the coralline is starting to take off. Did I already post this? Hmm well anyway, I can already notice better growth in the monti. It's grown 1/4" in a week. Sweet :D

I will try to get better pictures tomorrow.

Just went down to check on the tank, saw a few things...

Peppermint shrimpy is happily living among the rocks still, and hasn't tried to ride the overflow express in more than 2 weeks!
Also the monti is beginning to encrust, so it looks like everything is happy in the tank.

Now all I need is time this weekend, to reaquascape whilst I terminate the valonia. Hopefully everything will go nicely :)

Yup, it's Kens. I'd say it's already tripled in size. It's now beginning to spread to that rock behind it. I like Xenia a lot :)

I'm thinking of getting a pair of skunk clowns once I deal with Senor Valonia, just so I can deal with one thing at a time. What do y'all think?

Im happy that everything is going so well. If I had the choice, I would have an extremely long aquarium, with different lighting over different sections. Different section would also have different aquascaping and flow rates (cm per second) that way I could keep all sorts of coral and not have a million different aquariums!

Hey, just a quick update...

I have found where my emerald crab resides! I hadn't seen him for 2 months, but for the past 2 nights, I have seem him in the same exact place, munching algae. He has his humble abode inside a crevice in my largest rock, a 35 pounder. I can watch him forever, unless my shadow gets over him, then he runs. Can they not see structures and such, and just light?

i must say you are one of the wiser 15 year olds ive ever come across. im jealous that im 20 and you have a bigger tank than me! lol its alright, im only kidding. one day i will too, i gotta get outta this apartment first though.

anyway, your tank is looking really good man. i love how you researched everything down to a solid plan, even as far as reffing games and saving money. THATs determination! i didnt even realize you were 15 until a few posts later when you mentioned it. awesome stuff man, will be subscribing for sure. :D
