Anyone up for another 135 Thread?

Yeah, I figured that. I also don't have my QT setup yet, so I'd have no place for him. I guess I will go for the clowns. First week of July when I get back from vacation.

Powder browns are pretty, and I think powder blue tanks are just amazing. Big ich magnets though, but if I can get through an ich crisis, so can you! ;)

Guess my hippo tang is a food snob...he only goes after the flakes and shrimp....he's always been too indignant to actually "graze" some algae and earn his keep. My tang is my favorite fish--lots of personality.

Yeah, I love tangs! They are the reason why I went so big. I was originally going to do a 55. That got moved up to a 75, but then I figured why not a 90. Then I figured why not a 120. Then I figured why not a 135. Then my dad intervened

Can anyone help me here? http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=609808
I'm going to get two DE pendants for my tank, and go open top. I already have the ballast (dual 250w HQI PFO), so I will just get two of these, and hang from the ceiling. Sweet.

I'm also setting up a CL from my return. With the open top, the plumbing possibilities are endless. Basically it will be a frame of 1.5" pipe around the tank, with 7 outlets, reduced to 3/4" Loc-Lines. Should be around 200gph each outlet. Yay for my ingenuity!

On a sad note, I have to miss the CTARS meeting this month. It's going to be at one of the coolest slash best LFSs. :sad1:
I will be so lonely without my monthly dose of CTARS..

Maybe instead of doing the Powder Brown you can go with a naso, they are much more laid back for tangs and prettier in my opinion.

Naso's are my favorite tangs, and I had one as my original tang on my list. I love their streamers. However, they get really huge, don't they? I suppose it wouldn't get full size in the 2 years this tank will be set up..hmm. Anyone want to take a vote?

Just took a couple pictures...

Anthelia Macro:

Palys under Actinics (they just started to close, darn):

Also, I had my halides on from 11am-7pm and the tank reached 85Ã"šÃ‚°. Not doing that anymore...I think I'll stick with what I've been doing. Right halide on at 2:30pm, left on at 3:00pm, both off at 7:00pm or 8:00pm. I'd been able to keep it at 83Ã"šÃ‚° that way.

Got the tank cooled down, it's sitting comfortably at 81Ã"šÃ‚°-82Ã"šÃ‚° right now. So no one likes my best Macro shot I've ever taken? :sad1:

That is obvious. But this is a big improvement for me. I've realized if I clean my glass really well, then I can put the lens right up against it, and zoom all the way in, and they come out like that.

My Dad made an interesting point...
My closed loop is going to be running off of my Mag18 return pump. It will have 8 Loc-line outlets in the tank. My Dad said that the outlets closest to the original input of the CL will be the strongest, and the farthest away will have nearly none. Thoughts?

Gate valves ?

I should put valve on every outlet, and control each outlet manually? I don't see other closed loops like that...I think it's more of a physics element that my Dad and I don't understand. I think I will ask Calfo.

i would use valves that way you can have stronger flow in some parts of the tank and slower else where unless you are using sqwd's
