o ya i was just reading back alittle now your thinking about taking the 135 down and downgrading to 2 -20 and a ten you just set that up didn't you have another tank that was set up before the 135 for only a short time?

Nope. First timer here.

It has nothing to do with tank maturity or growth. It has to do with the setup as a whole. As I stated before, if my setup was setup how I want it, then I would go as big as possible! But, the setup is wrong and inconvenient and frustrating.

welcome to saltwater 101:D
to have a convienent system you are looking at lots of $$$$$$$$
frustration comes with reefkeeping it happens but you get over things.you want a tank as big as possible but you get frusturated at a 135 relax alittle and enjoy .owning a reef is no simple task requires alot of time and energy and patience from what i have read from you over the last 4 months you have none of the above so relax alittle take some deep breaths.i'm not bagging on you but you gotta chill alittle:D :D :D

Looks happy after only an hour! It was out of it's original tank for maybe an hour, then I dripped it for 2.5hrs, and here it is :)

How exactly do Frogspawns grow?

Any whole tank shots? Do what you want it's your $$$ just don't hurt any livestock. I want Streams.. I want bigger.. species tanks are cool but having a big tank is amazing everywhere you look there is something new to see (once well stocked). When my parents got me the 46 ( just the glass tank/stand) for x mass.... i remember them saying it's a work in progress. There have been times i have hated my tank.. but it's coming along. Patience.. get some cool things and aquascape the way you like and you will like it more.. works for me.

No full tank shots, one halide already went out, so I couldn't get the white balance correct. One side would be insanely bright.

The frogspawn looks like it's doing very well.

Well I hope that you decided to keep the 135. I think that you will be alot more happy with the bigger tank in the long run. After the first few months the money really starts to slow down. I remember that I thought I would never be able to afford such a big tank in the beginning but after it was all setup and done it was easy to take of and to enjoy. Now I just watch everything grow and I don't add to many new things to the tank unless it is impossible to pass. Maintaince will be alot easy with the bigger tank as well and you won't have the trouble of taking care of 3 tanks even though they are all plumbed together. And you can keep larger fish in the 135 like that foxface and maybe a tang.

i saw amazing foxfaces at my lfs.....and a cool dwarf fuzzy....i wish i had a bigger tank..sigh. cough...

I am going to get a sailfert test kit of calcium/alk and once i know what i'm at.. not blindly dosing..like I am now.. no ill effects..good growth.. consevative does. I am gong to get a ORA tort i saw at my lfs! My t5 are amazing! They change coral colors! When i see a cool coral i think..hmmm how will this change in my system?

Will a dwarf fuzzy add to much waste? Eat my skunk and blood shrimp???

Foxfaces are very cool fish. Remember, if I do the new system, then Larry (the Foxface) is stayin with me in the 100g sump. He's a great fish...Nick, you could probably keep one for a little while in your 46, depending on your bioload already. Mines grown about 3/4-1" so far. It's been 2 months since I got him.

I know that but it will be cooler to watch him in the 135 instead of the rubbermaid sump. I also think that he will also be happier in the tank so that he will have places to hide and algea to snack on.

Ya but i don't want to get rid of 'em if i get one. They were some small ones, but if i'm going to get a fish I'm going to keep it!

I picked up some Cheato. :) Death to MICRO algae...Refugiums work wonders!

In the Rubbermaid will go all the rock from the tank now, that I don't put into the display 20s and 10, for the refugium. I will section off the part for macro growth, so that Larry wont eat it, and I'll put in a nori clip for Larry in the other part. So it will basically be his tank, except darker (lit by only a fuge light), and a tad smaller.

Too bad you live in Texas, if you were closer you'd get my 135, and then be able to get a Foxface :D
