Anyone up for another 135 Thread?

Ok, time for an update.

The camera is still at my Dad's :(

The peppermint shrimp is doing great. He ate the aiptasia that I've seen, so he's doing his job. He still attempts suicide everynight; I have to get some eggcrate for the overflow. The Devil's Hand is doing great, his polyps are open most of the time, and he looks awesome. The monti is doing well too, although it bores me. It just sits there, and takes forever to grow. The anthelia has already shown growth. The xenia, oh my. That thing grows incredibly fast. It has literally doubled in size since Sunday. 4 days!! Everything is doing awesome, maybe I will take a video with the digital camera. I'll go try that.

:bounce1: Everything is lookin real sweet!

Free frags! No one offered ME free frags! Damn I wish I was 15 again....oh let's give the KID some frags...:p

Hey is that monti from Dan? LOL looks identical to the monti I found in his sand...:smokin:

Don't hold your breath...mine grows SLOWLY....

Keep up the good work!

pecan2phat, far be it from me to hijack Tyler's thread, but man I HAVE to give you your props! Your tank is one of a kind!

And it's a new setup?!? WOW~!:D

It's actually from Greg. It's doing nicely so far, but my favorites are the Devil's Hand and the Xenia. Do I have a problem? Xenia is my favorite coral, that doesn't sound normal to me :p

I'm really considering picking up a Foxface tomorrow. I feel I'm ready for a fish, and the ones at the LFS have been really healthy and vibrant (I've been spying for 2 weeks). I have a bunch of stuff for him to pick off the rocks, if he decides not to eat right away, so food is essentially taken care of for now. My dKH/Alk has risen to acceptable levels due to Kent Superbuffer dKH (Godsend), so all my parameters are in check as well. Skimmer is working great, so I don't see why my system wouldn't be ready for a new introduction. What say you?

I have no opinions....I'm SLOW...

But I do have this:
3437%3B%3B%3A723232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2344%3D334%3D%3A%3A%3B%3DXROQDF%3E2323849768496ot1lsi

:D :p :D

Sweet! My Dad works in Waterbury, maybe once my tank settles in more with the family, he'd be willing to buy me a few things :p
You going to the Weslyan meeting?

At Dad's house, the camera is. (Yoda style)

I did send another one of my homemade videos to Mike (FalsePerc), so if you want to spend awhile downloading that, you can ask him for it. It's not on this computer. It profiles my entire setup, I think it's pretty neat.

Looking good Tyler, and congrats on your first corals! I am very envious of your tank's massive size--makes mine seem like a fishbowl. :D

Without reading the entire thread, are you running carbon? I would definitely recommend doing so if you have plans to keep both SPS and softies together. Just a thought. :)

Kayla

Hey Kayla, good to see you here :)
Good idea about the carbon. I'm not going to start keeping SPS until I get my algae, microbubble, and flow issues resolved. So, I'm thinking I'll just throw some in the sump in a little filter sock or something, at the end of the drain. I don't want to buy a canister filter.

No, definitely don't buy a cansiter--they aren't worth the pain cleaning them! However, I would put the carbon in an area of higher flow rate, as this would be much more effective.

HTH :)

If I attach it right onto the drain pipe, so that the water has to go through it straight from the tank, wouldn't that be high enough flow?

I would imagine so, I just wouldn't restrict the flow going into the pipe too much by blocking it with the carbon.
