I don't see ANY positive posts about CC...

I have had CC for 2 years now. When my system was not healthy it grew algae on it, also believe that sand will do the same. Now my tank is healthy. I have a small to medium CC about 1-2" deep and I vac it every 3-4 months. The colors stay white, pink and purple. I have a ton of creatures living in it also. I think you need to do what looks good to you.

if ever you want a jaw fish or burrowing fish youll want the small CC .. CC isnt aproblom unless its a really large size.

my jawfish takes the CC to reinforce his cave. kinda cool to see

it works great. there is absolutly nothing traped in it. and also it gives my snails a lil somthing extra to grab onto when the dumb things fall on there back.

but then again i have good flow in my system and my sand bed is constantly shifting ( looks different every week) id hate to imagin it without the CC mixed in O_O

just use itl it works and it saves you some $$$

sure i get a small green piece every now and then but it never stays that way for long

also i never vacume it . or really even touch it

well my sand has algae growing on it in my 75 now. maybe ill give it a shot. still thinking about it though.
