anyone use p38 the refugium lighting?

My question is stated in the title, has anyone use the p38 for the refugium light? would this overkill?

I use the all white Par38 from Reefledlights for my fuge. It is very intense white light with no worthless (to plants) actinic. Comes with 12 3wCREE Leds. Grows cheato like a champ!

Just started using a all white par38 bulb. Still waiting to see results on cheato growth but love how much less heat they give off from my of cf bulbs.

I got the par38 bulb with the actinic lights and 10,000k. Maybe should not use the actinic lights?

There is no reason not to use the actinic if you have them. It won't hurt the plants, just won't do much for growth. Pure actinic doesn't do much for coral growth either, but it certainly does look nice!

I use a regular light bulb in 6500k. Works great, trim my cheato once a month of probally 2 one gallon bags. I do run the light 24/7.

Save the money and buy something else for the tank IMO

what do you mean actinic doesnt do anything for coral growth? deepwater acro's grow at 22k spectrum! i got a cheap 65watt grow bulb and clamp on light. or get t5's
