Anyone used these lights?

They claim to use only 65 watts of power but produce the light equivalent of 500 watts with a color index of 6500k. Sounds great on the surface but would appreciate advice from anyone who has tried them. They would probably be pretty low heat, another plus.

I have one on my 33 and the light is a little yellow.You can go to www.lenslights.com and order a filter to change the spectrum.Also,if you buy the one with the day/night sensor on it juswt cover the sensor with some electrical tape or paint it.Overall for a budget light i think it works great.

I have one on my refugium. Works great! My son has two of them lighting his 37g display, suplimented with actinics. Looks OK to me. I've seen them at Home depot for $34. and I've seen them at Wal-Mart for $11.

Many people use them for cheap fuge lighting, not for the display tank. As mentioned earlier they are a bit yellow. Also lots of people cut extra cooling holes in the back of the fixture.
