Anyone using a BioDenitrator

If you are talking about a denitrator that uses sulfur, then I use one.
The downsides are:
1) if improperly set up, it will smell worst than number 2 on steroids,
2) it can lower your ph to dangerous level,
3) it may not work

I'll tell you a short story.
I had 6-7 tangs in the tank. I fed heavily daily and didn't do any water changes for 3 months. So poops everywhere, etc. Guess what my nitrate was.
Using the Sal Nitrate Test Kit, it showed 5-10ppm.
Thats how well it works. It would've been smaller or no nitrate if I used a bigger reactor.
Right now, I am going to reset up my denitrator. I am going to use a larger unit (BAR DIY). Hopefully that will eliminate the nitrate to 0.
If you read up on how one works etc, there are tricks to make it work well.

The tank is ok...kinda irritating but its ok. My dad helped me resecure the stand to support the weight. The plumbing hasn't been redone yet, but is in the process. The rocks aren't built yet and I am waiting on the skimmer.
So the tank is still dry.

rofl, not really. That only occurs if the water is idle in the reactor for a long period which could turn the media black.
But ya, it can smell like rotten eggs on steroid! (had some spilled on me and...have you seen the episode of Futurama with the smellascope??? thats my reaction hah)
As long as their is flow going through it, it hsouldn't be a problem.
