anyone using a black sand bed??

just wondering what the draw-backs are if any. planning another tank kinda curious what type to use or stay away from. anyone have any experience with it?

Yeah, doesn't look good at first and then looks worse after.

We use 80lbs white, 20lbs black, and I actually think it looks OK ...

Every once in a while, I wish it was all white, but I think it's unique.

after reading all 19pgs (thanks bebo77... good read) i think he did mention that if the tank were smaller, he might like it better. since my intention is to use an all "black sand bed" (BSB) in an aquapod, i will give it a try. maybe experiment with it and keep it void of any real life and see if it grows on me. i do have to admit that it is rather kool looking.
