anyone using a dosing pump for vodka dosing?

I was just wondering if anybody had tried this yet, and if there was a unit in particular that it works well with...my schedule is crazy and I would prefer if the vodka was dosed into my tank at the same time every day, and slower than I usually do it

maybe it an idea to add vodka to your water filling system if you have it
I got a 10 liter tank with fresh water and have to refill it every 5 days
so if you dose 10ml a day, you could add 50ml Vodka to your filling tank.
this way the vodka will be added to your tank slowly

I don't know if there is a side effect when Vodka is in freshwater for several days.
or maybe it loses its purpose.

this question has to be answered by a pro, but I think the idea is good

Vodka is 60% water, mixing it with RO water won't be an issue. After time its possible you could get bacteria growing so an occasional clean out would be good.

than it won't be a good idea for me, my fresh water tank is build in by filtration system. can't get it out of the cabbinet

I use a dosing pump from Bulkreefsupply.com. It works great. The pump is very well built and pumps 1.1ml per minute. highly recommend it. They are around $75.

Dude,:

I have found the best solution for vodka dosing although I have yet to actually be able to actually dose vodka. I opted for a upgraded more efficient skimmer, denitrator and running gfo in order to keep nitrate/phosphate low....my travel schedule negates my ability to dose vodka at this time.:( Check this pic out, hold's a 60ml/cc syringe and can doses from 0.2ml/cc an hour up to 99.99 ml/cc an hour. :D

Cheers,

awesome idea. aren't they used in Hospitals.
I remember my mom had something like that when she was pregnant from my little bro.

Where did you get it and how much did you pay for it

Guess I will try the doser from bulk reef supply, I guess U just gotta play with the timing to get it all right for your dose

I dose my vodka using BRS's new doser hooked up to my RKL. It works just fine so far (about 4 weeks worth of use).

I can program my RKL to activate the pump in 1 second increments, so precision dosing is not an issue.
