Anyone using Randy's 2-part and a calcium reactor?

I picked up a used MRC CR, and am just about to start up my new 120g system. Anyhow, I am concerned about the pH drop that the CR will cause. So I am thinking about using Randy's new improved 2-part recipe and a two-channel reef dosing pump to help combat the pH drop and maintain correct ionic balance?

Anyone have any experience doing this or thoughts?

That should work OK, although limewater would be a bigger pH rise.

If I just dose kalk via a dosing pump (volume equivalent to evaporation) then I should be ok right? If I go this route would it make sense to dose trace elements also, or would water changes using a good salt mix take care of that?

Using limewater on a dosing pump along with a CaCO3/CO2 reactor is a good setup.

I don't recommend dosing trace elements unless you have specific needs (such as iron for macroalgae or silica for sponges, both of which I dose).
