Or Real Estate. I can't believe my house went up 130K in 10 months. It went up 90K even before I moved in. I wonder how much tank I can buy with 130K. :P

Just an update, Wednesday is still set for my dad to help me reinforce my stand (JUST IN CASE) and then we'll get some water in the tank and the lights setup ( might drill into the stand to make wiring less obvious)

I will post some pics in 2 days *jumps up and down* can't wait ! TBS we're coming soon!
 
Just posting a new picture of my tank with the 48" MH unit on it. Keep in mind that it's on a 90 tall. Cycle is nearing completion and coloration is coming back to the live rock:

Pretty nice. My 36W of actinics doesn't put a dent in my 150W 20K MH so it's pretty white light. It looks crispy clear but I kind of like it better with a hint of blue. I heard it takes about 100 hours for the bulbs to break in. I will try to post a pic soon. Haven't been home in time to take any pics before the lights shut off. Oh, today I am a happy reefer. Today, the new anemone that my gf bought for me last weekend is hosting one of my Clarkiis. I love this hobby.
 
ok something is wrong.. they don't answer their phones!!! i have money to them and it's been a week and 3 days still no reply.. ive e-mailed and called.. what is going on...
 
i finally got a e-mail from them.. saying they really didn't know which lights i wanted..which confuses me because i said i wanted the jebo 24" 110 w black compact strip.. needless to say now there sold out..
 
ok i ordered the 48" inch fixture, very pleased with it overall,
i like the casing versus the plastic one on coralife , but the actinics are nothing more than blue bulbs, my coralife bulb is violet actinic, it flouresces, the blue one does not, that would bee my reccomendation is to replace w a true actinic, or go all daylight and maybe vho or n/o for actinic
 
oh.. i'm not very happy with that company right now.. saying they gotten my money monday.. and waitin on me to get concerned about the product i ordered.. cos they was confused what i wanted.. ok hello.. i gave them the description that was on their website for the lightin i wanted.. they could have atleast e-mailed me.. instead of me havin to e-mail them.. try callin them no one will answer the phone.. what kind of company is this!?!?!?!? i'm so tempted to just cancel and get my money back. since there now all sold out of the lighting i wanted.
 
For any of you with the 48" MH/T5 unit..... If you find suitable replacement actinic bulbs for the t5 fixtures, please post the bulb info here.

What Coralife hood do you have? Mine has an aluminum case, not a plastic one.
 
OK Guys heres my Story. I thought I would take the chance with the 48" MH light fixture (cheap price). I placed my order on the first of Feb and after a couple of days of no emails or any communication about my order I called and a girls (always the same girl) they said they unit was on backorder unitl Feb 5, ok great no big deal. The units were received at the warehouse on Mon the 7th, I called Monday she (same girl) said my unit would be shipped Tuesday again fine, great. Tues comes and goes no emails, no tracking number. Wednesday I called (the same girl always anwers the phone by the way, have I mentioned that) she doesnt remember talking to me at all the preivous days and shes the says the same thing she did on Monday "your order is packaged and waiting for the UPS to pick up. again great, OK all's good and Thursday no emails with tracking numbers so I call again and she says "your order is waiting for UPS to be picked up" but this time she gives me a tracking number, I check the number on UPS site it says that its has received billing information on tracking number but no pick up status. Today, Kinda ****ed by this point. The ups site says the same thing. I called aquatraders and surprize new electronic answering service with there customers service section going straight to voice mail, I finally get thru the order parts section and speak to the same girl and she goes through the same stuff she always does and says waiting for UPS to pick up. STEAMING at the point, I asked to speak with a Manager or owner and she transfered me to "limbo" and I was diconnected, I immediatley called back and went thru the same routine I always had to because the same girl I just talked two minutes earlier didnt remember talking to me. She again transfer to mister LIMBO and i was disconnected... Thinking about complaining to PAYPAL and requesting refund.....
 
Wow that really sucks. I hope everything works out. Maybe I can drive over there, pick up your lights and ship it to you. Might be faster that way. :) Anyways, when I bought my 24" MH lights recently, they were out of stock on most of their other lights. I guess they are selling very well. They are nice lights for the price. And they would have happier customers if their customer support was better.
 
jetfuel.. same crap is happenin to me.. they act like they don't know how to get in contact with you.. but they have your damn e-mail.. the lights i ordered they no longer have so i had to pick another lights.. they sent me a e-mail yesterday stated that i would be shippin my lights out feb 11 i'll get the trackin number and things.. ok here is feb11 no e-mail or nothing.. is it just me or everyone else.. have u noticed there e-mail is from HOTMAIL?! i find that a lil odd.. and i'm very tempted to just get a refund and do my business somewhere else.. I WILL NEVER BUY A ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM THEM!!! i find there service is not very good.. what kind of business doesn't have operators to help guide you.. and what kind of place you have to wait a week or longer for a response to a e-mail.
 
I posted long ago in this thread that I never got tracking numbers of any sort from them. I got the stuff I purchased fairly quickly though and I am very satisfied with the lights I have.
 
Look at the broken English on the instructions. Given their customer service history do you really think this Chinese company will stand behind you when the combo of cheap electronics and water takes your house out? This company is just one Chinese National, his kids, and a couple of non-english speaking employees bringing junk in from China and changing the buisness name everytime he gets caught. Last time he was nailed for clams from the Phillipines and he became Aqutrader. What will he change the name to if or when your house burns down?

You seem to know "more" about this particular company and it's ownership though. Enlighten everyone.
 
OK- I keep hearing people talk about "will the company stand behind you when your house burns down?"

So apparently if my, let's say corallife or aquamedic or who cares which brand, burns my house down. That company will take responsibility for rebuilding my house, or "smoothing things over with my homeowners insurance co"......Does someone have a case of an Aquarium lighting company fixing someones house because their fixture shorted out or whatever???

I ask this because this has come up several times now, and I'm baffled........Someone show me any company that has done anything close to this please.......or else I guess this is some kind of scare tactic talk.....Really now, I am confused.....
 
My experience with Aquatraders has been very good. I sent them three emails and received a seperate reply for each. In one of them they included their phone number. I called this number and talked with a guy regarding their 24" Metal Halide light. I said that I tried to add it to my cart on their website, but couldn't because it was out of stock. The guy said that they actually have them in stock, but the new light specs are different than the ones listed on the website and they didn't want to make them available until the site was updated. The main differences are that the MH light is actually 175W instead of 150W. Therefore the total output is 211W not 186W (the light includes two 18 W actinic PCs). Also, there is not a digital timer. He said that too many people complained that it was too confusing to use. I thought it was still a good deal and placed the order right then, over the phone. This was on Feb. 2. He said that they would either get the order out that day (Friday) or the following Monday. I just received the light today via ups. So it took them 5 business days to get the light from CA to PA. Nothing was broken and everything worked when I wired it up. I think the light that it outputs looks awesome. I am not sure if the ballast is electronic or magnetic. The guy said that it was electronic on the phone, but I'm not sure if this is true since I didn't get a chance to take the seperate ballast enclosure apart yet. So I would say that overall I am very pleased with the service that I have received from aquatraders.
