Anyone using these lights?

mounting legs please...

mounting legs please...

Can someone please confirm previous statements that the mounting legs on this unit do not in fact trully extend to 24 inches? (i really need the 24 inch legs as that the exact length of my aquarium)

(Just whoever has the 150Wmetal halide can you mount the halide legs and measure from the widest points and tell me how long it is?) :(

Any opinions on Jebo 520 Xlarge Protein Skimmer? I only heard one comment, want to hear more please. (i did read everything from page one to last current page)

I had a Jebo skimmer, and it was OK. Real pain to get adjusted at first (I've discovered that is true with just about every skimmer), but once set did OK.

Recently upgraded to a Coralife skimmer, and it's doing a much better job, although it did cost more. There's a current ongoing thread regarding this skimmer going on now.

Well it does say this in the item desciption for the 17" MH fixture:

"Extended to a maximum of 24" in length with mounting brackets installed. "

Uugh!

Uugh!

Latest update on the lights.

Came home from work today and found no power to the lights.

I started taking things apart and it looks like the ballast may have over heated and one of the capacitors? melted.

I'm currently looking for my packing slip/receipt but can't seem to find it. They've redone their website since I ordered, and I ca no longer login to review my order.

I'll try giving them a call tomorrow, since I had ordered it with the 6 month warrantee and see what happens.

You all may want to keep an eye on the ballasts for heat issues.

My MH fixture is working perfectly fine now after I picked up the second one. I didnt stay at the store long enough for him find out what make the T5's blow out on me so I have no idea what happen. But the second fixture I got work fine. I got the ballast with timer also. Everything is holding up so far and im getting good growth in coral.

They haven't responded to emails and haven't returned my calls.

I'm thinking I may just buy real electronic ballasts and rewire this thing.

I baught the 24in. 2x55 watt setup. It gets a little hot but other than that its pretty good. The free bulbs suck wrong color.

I see in their advertisement that they now have a 2x175wHQI, 2X96wPC plus moonlight with a dual cooling fan fixture and dual cooling fan external ballasts.

It's not on there website yet. I think I'll call them about this.

I should have found this thread sooner. I wouldn't spend a fairly large amount of money with these fawkers. I bought a jebo pump for my return while waiting for my permanant pump to arrive. I specifically ask the older guy in the glasses if it was ok to exchange it if it was too big or anything he said yes. So I bought it to find that it was too big for my sump. Next day I came back for an exchange and was charged 20% restocking fees so I paid more for something less. I was fawking ****ed off. I have to give credits to them that their price are pretty good compared to others. Not quality stuff at all if you want cheap then that's what you'll see here. THe MH you guys are looking @ are china stuff, one of my lfs has it on display a single 24" on one side and a SE 175 20k on another side of his 125g display tank. They look half way decent with the so called actinic t5 which is about the size of a pencil.

BUT IF YOU MUST BUY FROM THEM DO IT LOCALLY OR HAVE SOMEONE YOU TRUST GO THERE AND TEST EVERYTHING OUT B4 YOU PAY THEM. THEY DON'T WARRANTY ANYTHING THEY SELL.

There has been people who buy a full tank setup from them that leaked the first day they brought it home and they wouldn't take it back. There's this AS-IS section they have that I would stay 10 miles way from. I'd bet those are all bad parts they're just trying to recoup their lost after using it their own storing tanks.

Another update. I did recieve a reply from them on Sunday night via email. I'm packing up the ballasts and shipping them back so they can fix/replace them.

Looks like the "extended" warrantee paid off this time.

I have called tehm 10 times in the last 3 weeks and left messages. no one ever calls back or answers the phone.. What gives?

Makes me worry about what kind of support I would get if I bought something.

BTW I have also send 4 emails :(

Well, despite the good experience I've had with this light, I've decided to sell it.

I got a deal on a Maristar 48" 2x250HQI setup, so the Odyssea is up for sale to local CA Bay Area buyers only. (Won't ship) The 2x250 is a lot better for my tank since it's 24" and I want to keep clams and sps.

IME, it's been very well behaved. Fired up reliably every day and never had any problems. I still think it's a good deal for the money.

I just received the Odyssea 24"/130W PC. Got it w/o the moonlights and stand. Does anyone know how the moonlight attaches and do I NEED the stands to install the moonlight?

So far, I'm impressed with the price and performance...
