Anyone want to split a case of Pickling Lime?

Don't know if the price has changed recently, but my last 1lb bag cost all of $1.99 at Agway ;)

I use it to mix 30 or so gallons of limewater at a time that I then use for top-off.

@olemos: Before you order I'll head over to Agway in Hicksville, probably tomorrow, to see if they have this in stock.

I didn't know that they sell pickling lime.
I was yesterday at the Port Jeff. Agway picking up Dow Flakes.

I just called them and they are out of lime at the moment, they can order it, the price is $2.49 LB, still cheaper than Mrs. Wages

Lonnie it is nothing more than cheap kalkwasser ;)

Cheap in price but the same quality as the stuff you buy at the LFS

Suggest you do more research on pickling Lime. I used it before and it is difficlut to controll alkalinity and PH. I would not use it again. Suggest you use a PH buffer to stabalize PH and then add reef builder twice a week to hold alk at 10 dK and PH at 8.3. All my parameters are holding without any extra efforts.

For anyone interested, Agway in Port Jefferson station, just got it in and it's $3.99 + tax for a 1lb jar
