Anyone with experience with these skimmers

Those Askoll pumps on the Hurricone are awesome IME. I run the Askoll 1500 on another Coralvue unit and couldn't be happier. It pulls some nasty skimmate. So many choices and everybody seems to have their favorite. Best bet is if you can see several "in action" before making a decision.

The i-Tech is not seamless. It has a airweld down the side of the body. I saw your post on the ATB forum and yes the new ATB's are nice but they are over $200 more than a i-Tech.

I waited over 6 months for some more ATB Smalls to be produced ($950) and I finally broke down and ordered the i-Tech 100 with a Tunze pump at $452 and glad I did. Two months later and there are still no ATB Smalls available.

I think for the price, build quality, customer service, quality of pump, and ease of use, and performance the i-Tech is hard to beat. The new ATB's are sweet but so is $200 worth of frags + a new i-Tech that performs wonderfully.

It will be interesting to see what skimmer you pick.

How did your sump break?

Thanks, I will keep everyone updated. When I was loosing up the dart to take it off, the glass cracked on the side of the sump from the hole all the way to the end.

Thanks Andy, I will let you know.

I own the 100 and I am still running my old skimmer pump on it and I think the I-tech is a great skimmer. You cannot go wrong with it. The only thing I do with it is empty the cup once a week. I will be buying the tunze pump for it so I am sure it will just get better and better.
As far as customer service John is a great stand up guy. If the store was local, I would buy from him even if it meant spending more money. I emailed him about the 100’s and he answered all of my questions. Eventually I told him I wanted to buy one. He said that no more were available at that time at the introductory price because he had gone through all of the material because of the high demand. I told him thanks and good luck. About a month went by and I got an email from him asking if I was interested in a 100 body and he offered it to me at the intro price. To me that says something about a guy/company that remembers you after 4 or 5 emails a month ago. He easily could have sold it to someone locally.

John is a great guy and an asset to the hobby... I have bought a lot of livestock from him. Whenever I head down that way I am sure to stop by... As I told you in the PMs, you will get great customer service and a fantastic skimmer no matter which way you go... Both Victor and John are very accommodating and easy to deal with... :)
