Anyone with jellyfish?

Hi,
I'm looking for people who keep moon jelly's, preferably for more than 2 months. I'm researching jellyfish diseases and therefore I was wondering whether people who keep jelly's at home also have problems with their jelly's.

I doubt there are too many folks here who will be able to respond, though I am curious how many do keep jelly's. From what I recall, jelly's require a special tank system...one that has circular flow and no corners...so a circular shaped tank as well. This was my recollection when I looked into it years ago. Of course like anything, I'm sure there is someone out there who will chime in and say they have had "great success keeping them in a small rectangular tank" or something like that :)

Is it hard keeping them and how well did they do in captivity? The reason I ask is that champion is selling a tank for them now.

This guy nailed it^ but I don't think you'll ever hear great success keeping them in a small rectangular tank or any tank the majority of the time.

Yeah they are very difficult to keep. I'm only familiar with upside-downs first hand but this should apply to all jellies.. even my upside-downs lasted longer than I expected (a month..)

I know they need special lighting similar to an anemone somehow.. not sure how much, but somewhere around there.

Circular tanks yes because jellyfish can't swim, they just pulse and "Go with the flow" needing good and smooth water movement.

Also most jellies adverage life span is around a year.. and I'm not too familiar with jellyfish diseases since they are basicly mobile anemones and nothing more.

Oh and don't touch their tentacles unless your curiousity gets the best of you :D

If your looking for Jellies that can go in a Regular shaped tank look into Red eye medusa jellies. The catch in they are a cold water species like moon jellies so they need a chiller. They do better in a regular tank than a circular tank as the swim up to the top and then drift down through sea grass and catch things as they go.
