Anything I should know about cardinal breeding

My male cardinal jus inhaled the egg sack of the female.wat are sum things I should know 2 produce healthy babies

I would remove them him from the tank a bit before the babies are due to be released. I believe the average is 20ish days after he starts keeping them in his mouth. I would feed them brine shrimp once they are out and make a fake sea urchin for them to hang out in. Some people use those plastic organizers as well rather than fashion something from zip ties.

Fortunately there is lots of info on breeding them on the net since measures have been taken to reduce wild-caught ones going into the aquarium trade.

It may be best to get the male out and placed into a breeder box.
I have 4 pairs and so far none of my males ever carried a batch to term. In most cases the eggs are all gone after a week. Normal tank life is just too stressful and the female may start getting pushy after a while as well.
