Is it safe to stick the heater in that back chamber?

yes it is..mines in the left chamber where the pump is.

Thanks G-Force123. I put it on that little divider that separates the smaller right chamber with the balls and sponge from the left chamber with the power head. The heater is facing the power head, is that going to be okay?

Yeah I put my heater on the area where the filter set up is, I'm using activated carbon so there aren't those blue filters or anything in there. It works well.

Thanks guys. I have one more question. Do you guys use a skimmer with your Aquapods? If so, what would you recommend?
