APC Back up for MJ1200s?

Just trying to get some opinions here. I want to get an APC back up in enven of short power failure to keep 2-3 MJ 1200's running for minimal flow. I not have a lot of power outages here, but if they do happen, there is a good chance I am gone... I am currently building a surge res. that will take care of any overflow problems and once the power trunes back on the float switch will pump the overflow back into the system, but I want to have the MJ1200 in my sump and 2 MJs (on a JBJ wave maker) operate in the DT for any short outages. How much wattage would I need? What Size APC (I've seen some use an APC 1000, but do I need that much)?

Thanks as always... oh and BTW... I'm not going to go buy vortechs, or a new tunze system as I'm not looking to spend a grand here. :D

Most of those UPS aren't designed for electric motors. You need something that supports a true sine wave.

A careful shopper can pickup a used tunze or mp10 for around $200 or less. Sometimes you get what you pay for. JMTC & GL!

Well an MP 10 would not suppot my 90 gallon. I guess I could go to a mini back up generator, but how do I get it to automatically turn on when the power fails?
