im a new apex owner i have just set up my apex and i was wondering what some of the alarms you guys have set up so far i have only done temp any ideas would be awesome

Alarms on high temp, low temp, high pH, low pH, low ORP, and power outage. I've got a pretty simple sumpless system, so no float switches or anything complicated.

I've been meaning to implement an alarm that would tell me if my heater outlet has been on for greater than XX minutes, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Haven't done it yet, but I plan on buying or making an I/O breakout box and connecting a couple float switches. Then I'll have an alarm for high/low water levels

My email/text notifications are similar to others: Power out to each of my EBs or Apex, tank or sump temp too high or low, pH, salinity, and orp too high or low, leak on floor in front or back of my tank, sump level too high or low.

I also have a small (fairly inconspicuous when not lit) blinking LED on the side of my tank cabinet in my usual easy chair line of sight that goes off when any of my pumps are off except during feeding cycles, or those same "big problems" as I call them exist ... Just in case I don't check email or my phone is in the other room and I've messed-up something and not turned it back on after fiddling with my tank. My tank UPS will scream if power is out... louder than the Apex Display, and my Apex Display will play its little tune otherwise when there are big problems.

I like that alarm. What does it look like?
Good for dosing too!

In the back of the Comprehensive Reference Manual, there's an example of how to set up a virtual outlet that turns on if an outlet has been on (or off) longer than XX minutes. It will look pretty much look like that, once I get off my behind and do it! I'll just add that virtual outlet and then just turn my alarm/email outlet on if it sees that virtual outlet being on.

Leak detection, hi sump, low sump, high temp, low temp, high ph, EB8's no power, apex no power, power restored and I added a statement to mine that says
If time 12:00 to 12:01 then on
Which sends me a text and an email everyday at noon telling me what my tank parameters are and the status of all outlets.
