Apex and heaters and fans?

Hi,

2 questions:

1. Can the Apex control heaters? If so what heaters are compatible? Would like to hook 2 heaters up to the controller in case they ever get stuck in the "œon" position and the tank temp starts to climb the apex controller can shut them off. Is this possible?

2. Can the apex control small 3-4" fans? I use these in my canopy and stand to keep air moving and things cool. Is it possible to hookup a few of these?

Thanks,

Nick

You program the main unit to tell the things plugged into the energy bar when to turn on/off based on time/probes/etc. You program via the display/dashboard/Fusion. Search for Neptune Apex comprehensive manual.

With 2 heaters I do the following.

Heater (1)
Fallback ON
If Tmp < 75.9 Then ON
If Tmp > 76.0 Then OFF

Heater (2)
Fallback ON
If Tmp <75.5 Then ON
If Tmp >75.8 Then OFF

Thanks. I'll have to look into how to program the main unit energy bar.

My understanding is with Fallback ON if Apex fails the heater will use its control instead. Therefore, I use Fallback on for heaters, pumps but not return on my system or ATO.. I would though not use Fallback ON with both heaters just your main one.. If this makes sense.

Main_Heater (1)
Fallback ON
If Tmp < 75.9 Then ON
If Tmp > 76.0 Then OFF

Heater (2)
Fallback OFF
If Tmp <75.5 Then ON
If Tmp >75.8 Then OFF

On my Apex I also have two virtual outlets Temp_Low and Temp_High

For my fan I use the following:

Fan
Fallback OFF
If Output Temp_High = ON Then ON
If Output Temp_High = OFF Then OFF
