Apex Android App

wyattroa, are you running the android Apex app or the android AquaNotes app?

The Apex app was the original app and it had some bugs related to duplicate and/or blank names. I actually just unpublished it from the market.

There is a newer app called AquaNotes, It is certainly not perfect but that is the only app I am really supporting anymore.

I reco you uninstall Apex and load AquaNotes. There are a couple of differences in setup. Noteably, use the app itself from the app-tray to start (not the widget). Fire it up then go to the preferences icon. Once entered, the spinner should spin during the polling for new data. Maybe hit the spinner again to make sure it spins then stops. Then you can go into the Controllers icon.

I had installed aquaNotes the first time and had the issue. So I un-installed it and re-downloaded AquaNotes again and put in my information and its working good now.

Anyone running into this problem. If my phone shuts down or I turn my phone off aquanotes will not relaunch. It just says it is loading apex information on the screen. All the information is still the same.. The only way to get it to display again is to actually delete the entire program from my phone and to re-download it. I have now have to do this about 10 times and all I do is copy and past the (WAN) from the previous setup and put it in the new download and it loads everything right up. Why would it do this? Kind of a pain to have to delete the whole system and re-download it every time the phone powers down.

I used to have this issue, depending on your provider and the phone you have there was just a Android update, current version is 2.3.6.

If you are up to date you might want to look at doing a factory restore.

I have the app running on my xoom fine but on my Apex its a no go. Its like it can't connect. I used the same addresses as the xoom. Any ideas?

And what address might that be?

My gut tells me that you are using the Xoom on wifi and the phone on 3g.

I assume that is a typo above when you said 'on my Apex it is a no go'.

Also, please reply in the Android Support thread. I need these old threads to go dormant. I usually don't even reply to threads other than the support thread.

having troubles getting the android app to connect. The set up looks different than my ipad app. it asks for the port seperatly rather than :port after the url like the ipad app. it asks for lan and wan addresses. I assume the lan one is for when I am home.

I can connect at home but not when away. I can connect from my office pc no problem so I know my settings and my equipment is good.

Is there any instuctions for the android app?

This hobbyist generated app is obsolete now that Neptune has release their own. See the official forum for more help.

Yes that is what I am talking about. This thread is under Neptune and says "android app" so I was mistaken....
