Gotfrogs - I'm not Curt but I did ask that exact same question. He said yes it will work you can just plug it into the new controller and all connected devices will work.

I just finished setting up a whole ACIII set up with two 8 DCs and two 4 HD DCs. Will I need to order the whole set for $499, or can i just order the new control panel? What will I need in order to have the new web interface?

The Apex is backwards compatible with te DC 8's and 4's you just waon't get some of the features with the new power bars. To get the new web interface you just need to download the latest firmware update.

I know you can just purchase the controller itself, but I believe Curt has said this won't be an option right away. I believe the package it being released first and then all the other options shortly thereafter. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe you will need to get a base module and a display module. As posted above the preorder package is available now seperate components won't be available until after those have shipped.

Mark is right...the display module is just an interface. Curt said you can in fact have multiple displays on the same system. For instance, let's say you have your sump and some other stuff in another room from where your tank is...you can have a display module in both locations so you can access the system no matter where you are working....pretty slick.

iPhone, iPhone, iPhone...

What about us non-iPhone users? I've got a Samsung Omnia with Verizon. Any chance I'll be able to control the Apex with the Omnia?

Thanks,
Paul

I think you should be able to use any web browser to control apex/ac3 thru http. It's just that the iphone app has a nice gui and the screenshots are perfect for phone size. Check itzme's post on page 2 on this link iphone application

No news is good news! Beta testing is going well, and all parts/assemblies are coming in as scheduled.
Apex has 4 built-in 0-10V ports. You will need to purchase the appropriate adapter cable (part #SURFCAB2 - $19.95) to connect the streams to the Apex module. With each cable harness, two streams can be connected and controlled independently.
