Actually....your upset because you sold your controller WAY too early and your having issues living with YOUR decision.
So in addition to being a genius you are also a mind reader? I am just fine with my Ranco temp controller and light timers for as long as necessary, thank you. What a nerve you have to phsyco-analyze me on what I am having trouble with. You don't know me from Adam. Like I said earlier, it is the non-stop lecturing about how great Neptune is and how we should all be thankful for the delays since it will make a greater experience that is annoying to me. If you don't agree then that is fine but don't tell me what I am thinking and what is really bothering me.

Actually, I hope you are a mind-reader, so you can read what I am thinking about you right now! $^%&# &#$^#

Come on people, can't we just get along.

Curt was nice enough to share pre-release information and date estimates. Things are taking longer than expected putting some on edge (never had a project go later than expected?). The Apex is a huge new undertaking and I am sure it will release when it is ready. Don't allow a delay to make an otherwise great group of people into a group with name calling and offensive mails.

I guarantee once the Apex is released the flurry will change to excitement, just don't let the excitement turn us on each other.

Particularly with technology products, stuff happens. When has Microsoft ever delivered something on time?

Forget on time when was the last time they delivered something that worked. :)

Just joking Kenargo...

I love that MS has patches to patch patches.

LOL! I forgot that Kenargo worked for that small company in Redmond, WA ...

I was just listing a big well known company. If I had said that the high-tech company I had worked for never delivered anything on time it wouldn't have made a difference.

Maybe I should have made an allusion to Duke Nukem Forever ....

I remember Duke Nukem. He had some good lines. Remember - It's time to kick a** and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of gum...

Classic!

kb27973,

Here is the tale of what is probably the epitome of frequently promised but never delivered software.

Duke Nukem Forever was a computer game that had been under development by 3D Realms since its announcement on April 28th, 1997, originally slated to use the (then) state of the art Quake II 3D engine. A few months later, screen shots were published in PC Gamer magazine, along with an intended release date of mid-1998. Excitement grew in May of 1998 when a few short video clips of Duke Nukem Forever were shown at E3... Surely a final release of the game was right around the corner!

Just about when mid-1998 arrived (June, specifically) 3D Realms announced they were changing 3D engines to Epic's Unreal engine. George Broussard, the producer and co-creator of the Duke Nukem series insisted that this change would not cause any significant delay, despite all logic pointing to the contrary. Also at this point, Broussard assured everyone Duke Nukem Forever would see a 1999 release.

1999 came and went, Duke Nukem Forever saw another engine change, this time to an updated version of the same Unreal engine they were working on. 3D Realms even released a Duke Nukem Christmas card, insinuating a 2000 release. Not surprisingly, the year 2000 came and went without Duke Nukem Forever. Another Christmas card was released, this time hinting at a 2001 release.

The whole story through 2009 - http://duke.a-13.net/

Talking about delivery dates slipping

I think the Apex story will be much shorter and with a happy ending.

wwanthony and ah30k,

Enough already....move back to your corners.

I hear you mhurley. I am here to share and learn, not bicker with people I don't know. I only made one statement. This ah30k character is very aggressive with his/her posts.

My bad.....I simply could not resist.

Now why did you have to dive back into this wwanthony. I hoped that the moderators request to quit bickering would have worked but I see it didn't.

I shall bite my tongue.

Interesting Lutefisk. Yeah I started my IT career as a C programmer so I know about slipping dates but that is ridiculous.

Ken

Bye

Bye

If I was CLP, I would never come back to this thread. Why bother?

The other Apex-specific thread, which provides details about features of the new controller, is much more informative and lacks the constant bickering over shipping dates, corporate morality and chest hair.

I wish Neptune or the mods would just lock this thread so serious discussions can commence elsewhere.

JMHO.

Unsubscribed.
