Hello. I am new here and fairly new to the hobby and was referred by Tanksdad13 from another forum where I am active. (than you sir)

I am happy to see there is a local forum of folks here, so I am looking forward to becoming more active here, and meeting some new people that are interested in this hobby.

My ? related to the topic of this thread is, I am looking for someone to help walk me through programming of my additional components of my Apex. LFS did the existing and they are pretty busy right now to help + expensive! I have also visited the Neptune forum, and they speak another language:lmao: I currently have my Lights and heater only hooked up. I am looking to move the unit and its components, plus add the following:

Battery Back Up
Jebao Pump Controllers
ALD

I have all the necessary things for what I need to install and looking for help. Thanks in advance.

Welcome, I'm sure these guys will get you squared away. I'm new to the world of Apex as well. Although, I do computer programming.... Just not sure what all they can be used for I suppose.

Are you using fusion? They have made it pretty plug and play if you ha it it run through a internet hook up.

Yes. just fearful of not hooking things up correctly. I am easily confused with the different places to plug things in, and mostly the programming. :headwally:

apex fusion has a programming manual that you can download. It is for the most part pretty helpful. It will walk you through how the computer reads the code. Order is important. Also it will give you examples of different programs and different modules. Otherwise you can post your code and then ask specific questions about the code and we can try and help with it.

Feel free to pm me. I spent a week setting mine up and figuring out little tricks and stuff.

THANK YOU!

If you google mr saltwatertank tv he has a good video on setting up for beginners

I have watched a few oh his videos, but now stuck on the adapters that allow the Jebao hook up for my 2 RW-15's and my DC-1200.

If you need a hand, let me know. Always willing to help out.

THANK YOU!

Yeah, I have done this, and like I said the basics are going. PH and Temp probe working great. My lights are working fantastic! I use the notes every day for logging activity (adding coral, maintenance, etc). Stuck on the additional stuff (Jebao hookups and ALD specifically)

I just got the jebao controller adapter for x-mas. I am going to try and get them hooked up here in the next day or two. I can let you know what I did.

I have always found Apex systems intriguing, but due to the lack of information out there, I find them intimidating. It is a pretty hefty price tag for a product. Can the users here tell me some of the things they use theirs for?

Name it they can control it at least in a basic fashion. More systems are integrating apex into there software and vice versa. The best thing I find that I use mine for is the redundant watch dog type features with text messaging. Things like when I forget to plug my ato back in or if I my ATO bucket runs empty. The water will hit my low level limit switch and send me a text. If ph or temp starts to get away. If my main pump fails. Things like that I get an idiot alert on my phone saying I have neglected my duties as a tank owner. I set up programs that tell my equipment what to do if I press the feed mode button. Like turn all pumps off. Then turn on powerheads after 5 mins. then turn on main pump after 10 mins. then turn on protein skimmer a 30 minutes. Also things like turn of a set of lights if my temp hits a certain temp. and continue to turn of lights as temp rises. All kinds of good stuff.
