APEX not accessable - Network

I have had my Apex for about two weeks now and it has stopped responding on the network two times. This is a problem for me as I have email updates of tank status two times a day and the fact that I travel alot the remote access/control is imparitive.

I know that Curt follows the threads here and I hope that he has found the bug that is causing this. If there is some diagnostic software load that exists, I am willing to load it to provide feedback to Neptune in order to fix this serious issue. I had an ACIII for the past 5 years and have had no problems like this.

Assistance please.

BTW, a System->Net Setup->Restart gets it back to working condition.

I doubt this is a firmware bug. More likely, there's a configuration problem between your controller - router - DNS service that's causing the problem.

Need more information on how you have your network configured, router make/model, communications provider, game adapter/bridge, PC O/S, etc.

This is fairly common and is usually fixed after a bit of back and forth.

Thanks Aquamanic. The thing is, this is the same configuration as my ACIII. Just unpulugged the ethernet cable from the ACIII and plugged it into the new APEX. My router is an Apple Airport Extreme with the DHCP setup to assign an specific ip address to the Apex. I use a port other than default 80 for access to the web pages and the Apex is setup for that, just as my ACIII was. No magic here. Something changed between the ACIII and the Apex in its handling of TCP/IP comms. Again, same cable, same router and same settings.

I assume you have a Mac. Do you have a telnet utility? If so, next time it becomes unresponsive, see if you can telnet directly to the controller via the IP address...telnet 192.168.10.5 or whatever your address is.

Got macs and windows pc's. I will do the telnet thing the next time. What are you thinking this could be and why would telnet access tell us anything useful? Are you thinking that the HTTP server is malfunctioning while the telnet is doing just fine?

As an added note, when the web access gets stuck, both access from a web browser and the aquanotes iPhone app become unavailable.

Ok, if telnet works.....and HTTP doesn't, what is causing the problem? And how to fix it? Reload the webpages? That was already done. I will send an email to Curt and see what he has to say.

Thanks!
