Ok here is my situation I hope someone here can help me out. I just moved and of course my tank came with me. The new location has ATT Uverse internet with the Motorola NVG510 modem/router. I have spent the last 12 hourse trying to view my Apex from outside my network. I have access locally but not outside. I have no-ip.org setup, and can access my network from the internet but the port forwarding side is giving me a fit. I have my apex set to use port 8000 with ip address 192.168.1.101, while it shouldnt be relevant the WNCE2001 uses ip address 192.168.1.101. When I attempt to select the forwarding rule and apply it to the Apex it shows that it is forwarding to the WNCE2001. I have attached 2 screen shots. The first shows the available device list with the WNCE2001 and the Apex(192.168.1.101) being seperate devices. The second is what shows what happens when I select the Apex and press apply. Please help me solve this as ATT is about as helpful as aptaisa!

All IP addresses on a given network must be unique. Change the address of either the Apex or the WNCE2001.

Are you sure you didn't just fat-finger this? It sure looks like you selected the wrong thing. They're right next to each other in the drop-down list.

1. You have to select the wnce2001 for you port forwarding.
2. Try locally from your home to connect to wnce2001 IP_address:8000
3. Check you WAN router IP address using whatismyip.com
4. Go to starbuck and try accessing your WAN IPAddress:8000

1. You have to select the wnce2001 for you port forwarding.

Port forwarding should never be pointing to an intermediate device like a switch or bridge. These devices just pass traffic through them. Port forwarding is always done to the intended end node's IP address (the Apex in this case)

Here is what i notice when using wnce2001. If you turn ON dhcp on your apex, wnce2001 and apex will have different ip address. But if you set dhcp to be static on you apex, both wnce2001 and apex will have the same ip address. And that is what niteowl sees too. That is why you can use wnce2001 on your port forwarding.
