Apex or Reefkeeper opinions?

I have two issues with it and I understand why the first is like it is. I know it is meant to conserve more power by bringing the flow down, but it barely makes any movement in my tank. I have not tried hooking the other one up yet, since I do not have an extra cable, so that may make a difference. I need to move it closer to the surface to get some actual gas exchange going if it does kick into battery mode though, but that causes problems (read:splash) in short pulse mode.

Problem two, when I test it sometimes it will not kick into battery mode at all. I have to reboot it a few times to get it to work. Don't know what's up with that since it is fully charged.

Also, I read where you can make a homemade one on the cheap with more power. So that bummed me out a little. But it was not pretty and not easily concealable. Ok, so I am done b!*%#ing now :D. $30 anyone......

$30

I would be careful rigging a home-made one. If it uses a modified sine wave that may cause problem with the motor.

+1 I would get a hold of ecotech and see what they say. Maybe be a easy fix. I think they have one of the best CS.
