Apex Question

Do you need 2 separate break out boxes to monitor Salinity and PH? Or can you do both with 1 type of box? Looking at picking up a Apex Jr. wondering what I'll need to add to monitor both salinity and PH.

thanks,

You don't need a breakout box. You need a pm2 module for salinity and a pm1 for ph. Then you'll need to buy both probes.

If those are important for you, probably cheaper to pick up a used Standard Apex. You'll still need to pick up a pm2 and a salinity probe.

Thanks, I was referring to the PM1 and 2 as break out boxes, so I'll need both of those? You can get both those options in one box with Digital Aquatics :/.

Thanks!

If you have an Apex Jr then yes you need both. Standard Apex comes with ph port n probe and an Orp port but no probe.

Do your research about which system will fit your needs better. While the DA system is cheaper, I found that the Apex fits my needs better.

Completely agree. I ran a reefkeeper for years. recently switched to an Apex after being fed up with DA's lack of support. I couldn't be happier and can do so much more. The reefkeeper worked (except a few things that failed on me over time and the sl1 module when it first came out and some of the very long waits for updates or modules and the ability to do a few things I wanted, and ...) and the forum help is great but DA themselves are terrible.
