Apex system failure

This evening during a windstorm the power in the area went out. When the power was restored about 5 min later, the Apex did not come back online. I do not have a UPS on the system... YET!

The status light on the Apex did not come back on, yellow or green. The lights at the Ethernet connector were both on (yellow and green), and the triac controlled outlet of the EB-8 was on (energizing the heater). The status light on the EB-8 was flashing yellow. Also one of the relays in the DC4 HD was on, activating one of the florescent lamp circuits. There was nothing showing on the Display Module.

I disconnected the aqubus connector from the Apex to see if it would reset, but it returned to the same state as mentioned above, when it was repowered.

Has anyone had a similar failure with the Apex Aquacontroller?

It's possible a surge when the power came on corrupted the firmware. You can try to reload the firmware and the web pages and see if that corrects it.

The EB8 outlets that are working probably have 'fallback ON' set. They don't need to talk to the controller at that point to provide power.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will need to contact Neptune for instructions on how to reload the firmware. I'm currently letting the thing set without power, to see if it will reboot to the NVRAM. Currently it shows no signs of life so I have no access to the self-test routine.

Update

The Apex rebooted on start-up, after a 24 hour shutdown period.

Thanks for the hint about this from Alan's "UN Users Guide"
