Apex temp spike when lights come on

I have an apex jr. just recently my temp reading started to spike when the lights come on. It spikes 3 degrees and then falls back down. The temp is not actually going up but the apex thinks it is and if it gets to 82 degrees I have it turn my lights off. Could it be the temp probe? I actually don't have my lights hooked to it now because they are mh and it was getting annoying seeing them having to restart.

Do you have the temp probe wire near the halide ballasts or wires ?? Sounds like interference from them to me.

I'll have to check but the actual main brain for the apex is close to a ballast. Thanks a lot. I didn't know that the apex could get interference like that but does make sense.
