Apex Trident

Thank you so much for sharing. I’m real excited about this. Do you keep testing manually even though you have this hooked up and running? I see myself manually testing as well as the Trident testing for at least the first few months until I know I can trust it. Not because I wouldn’t trust the trident but just for my own piece of mind.

Yes, I have been continuing to test Alk most every day and Ca couple of times a week. Considering titration method is entirely dependent upon a human eye perceiving color change, results are pretty similar.

So i heard that you have to send this back to apex every 6months for calibration. Can anyone confirm and if so how much does it cost?

How close is your manual testing to the trident results?

Corey

Without going into too much detail (NDA still limits what can and cant be said at this point), readings are pretty accurate especially when you take into account the variations of the human eye to determine the final stage of color changes using titration.

Wow, that was a lot of big fancy words.

I have neither heard nor read that particular rumor. Nothing I have seen on the NSI group forums has indicated a need to send back to calibrate after n months. I may have missed that in someones personal testing thread, but in the announcement threads by Neptune, nothing has been mentioned.

Don't ask me which episode but I think I remember Terrence saying something on a let's talk Reef about them working on standards for calibration if that's the case then I'm fairly certain they would be no need to send it in

That would basically kill the value of having the unit to a vast majority of people. I would assume that information is incorrect. Neptune knows a product requiring that would be DOA for home use.
