Apex WXM vs ReefLink

Are there any details about what the ReefLink will be able to do that the Apex WXM module will not in respect to control of Vortech's & Radions?

I already have the WXM module and considering the ReefLink if there is enough functionality (value add) that the WXM will not provide.

I am readily waiting for the new apex fusion software upgrade, i too have mp40's and radions and i am pretty confident that it will work just like the reeflink, and if i look at it in a cost benefit point of view, i rather save 200 dlls than have 1 or 2 extra features that the reeflink MIGHT have

Well for starters. According to what I just read. The Apex WXM only runs the pumps. Or did I miss something?

With the release of the apex fusion update (announced at macna - not released yet) the wxm module will be able to control radons. Not sure what the comparison between the reeflink and fusion will be

No need to wait for Fusion- the recent Apex firmware update allows you to control the Radions now with your Aquacontroller.
I'd love to know what differences there are between Apex control and Reeflink.

I'm curious to know if the reeflink will be able to program the vortechs the same was the wmx/apex do, running different modes a day or just "control" them without any kind of programing?

LinkinReef,

You will be able to program a schedule for VorTech pumps just like you would on a Radion. I would recommend taking a look at the VorTech preview found on ESL for more information.

After an intense few days getting to know my new Apex I'd say there's zero chance they'd offer a feature without putting a lot of thought into how the Apex will control it. Here's a screenshot of the profile setup:

Don't own any of these pumps myself.

GHL, too! Not just Apex.

I have the GHL module that gives all the same custom control and programming throughout the day. My Profilux is in the fish room, but I have the Touch color display next to the tank. I walk up to the display, hit one button and the tank goes into feed mode, including the vortech pumps.

I'm curious as to how this will work with ESL, or if I'll be forgoing the vortech programming on esl and sticking with the GHL programming… since I do not want to have to hit the feed button on my vortechs as well as the Touch display.

As for the Radion controlling from the Apex (I can't speak for Profilux), the Apex and WXM take over fully. your radians loose pairing with EcoSmart Live and everything is handled through the WXM module. you can't have both apex and ESL control. its one or the other.

What will happen if you try to calibrate your Radions after they've been paired with the WXM module?

I should've come back here and updated the answer to my question. I did it and had to redo the whole setup on ESL and then again on the Apex. With the Apex all the profiles were all still there and the coding had been saved so it was pretty easy. Same with ESL though- you can always save your graph and import it.
