API tap water fiter?

I'm wanting to know who has tried this device to di-onize their tap water for aquarium use? Or if you know someone who has what have their results been? Of course, the reason I ask is because I am wondering if this might be the way to go for me to go economically. And physically I can not carry 55 1b. water containers for when I'm ready to set up my 30 gallon tall tank due to rheumatoid arthritis. Any ideas about this set-up would be great! Thanks in advance.

I used it many years ago but it can be expensive buying cartridges for it.
I was only getting 20 to 25g from each cartridge.
I used to recharge them myself and used several purifiers in a row with the separated resins in their own cylinders.
