i've been neglecting my tank for a long time now. Finally getting some spare time again and would like ot clean it up. There is a lot of aptaisia on the rocks. Does anyone know what's the best way to get rid of them? Will Joe's Juice work cause i keep hearing different stories about it.

Thanks

It works to kill what you can see.
I lost a battle in one of my tanks and just bought more LR and totally killed off the old LR. They just spread WAY too fast to kill them all once they get out of control.

Copper Banded Butterflys will do a number on aptasia. They will also do a number on zoos and xenia. I inject aptasia in my tank with a very strong dose of Kalkwasser. Hope this helps

Joe's Juice seemed to make them spread for me, A Klien Butterfly started nipping at my SPS and 8 Peppermint shrimp slowly disappeared. So now I'm trying 3 Berghia Nudi's...Haven't tried the strong dose of kalk yet.

just make sure the peppermint shrimp came from the Atlantic side of things, those are the ones that are more likely to eat aiptasia. If you are seeing them slowly disappear, then I have to ask how big were the shrimp and how big are your aiptasia ? Also, doyou have any wrasses, triggers, or other known shrimp eaters in your tank ?

There's more then one shrimp from the ATL that is called a peppermint and only one of them eats aptasia ;)

Now to figure which one! :) Do they all look alike or is there a marking on the ones that do eat aptasia?
