aptasia and pipefish

If they get stung, yes it will cause a problem.

well i mean seems like there is no way of stopping it totally. what do u recommend. how bad will it be

Well, you need to eliminate the aptasia before adding the pipes. Any sting leaves the pipe vunerable to an infection.....or worst case - death.

Same with seahorses - aptasia stings can cause havoc.

what do u use to keep ur tank aptasia free? i have 2 aptasia in the tank at the moment what do u recommend to get rid of it

I have heard good things about Joe's Juice for killing aptasia

also there is one type of peppermint that will mow down aptasia -unfort. it looks identical to another type that does not eat aptasia. You could try 3 or 4 to see if they will eat it - I have some in my coral tank as well as my sh tank - I didn't feed them until they started eating the aptasia.

I have a few aptasia in my reef and my pipes are fine.

I use Joe's Juice to kill aiptasia when I can't remove the rock. When I can pull the rock I use a bc lighter and melt the thing for a minute or so.

IME an aiptasia can kill an 8" reidi seahorse. Was really sad to watch.

Never had one interact with a pipefish. I have 1 pep for every 10g's of water in all my tanks. No Aiptasia except in the overflow box.
