Aptasia Eating File Fish

I bought a file fish several weeks ago to eat a couple aptasia I had growing. It never did touch one, so I broken down and got some aptasia x to handle it today.

What does this worthless fish do?... As soon as I cover the biggest one in goo it starts tearing in to it lol. :banghead:

how long was he in the tank before you decided he was not interested in the aptasia. they do take some time to adjustand get used to the tank and then go from there.

He is still in there but will probably be coming out soon because its been picking at my soft corals.

I had a butterfly that ate every single aptasia, then it went after my LPS.

I havent had luck with the "natural" removal of aptasia. Aptasia X has worked great in small amounts for me.

That must be frustrating. I had 100% success with Pepermint Shrimp. Have you tried them yet?

Yea I've used them in the past with success. This tank has two mystery wrasses, one is pretty huge. It turns out they will destroy any shrimp I add. The file fish did eat my aptasia in the end just being a pest now though.

Many have told me that the wrasses won't eat shrimp but I have seen this sucker dominate the three I've tried.
