Joes juice is not keeping up. what eats aptasia?

Copperband butterflies do, but they're very difficult to keep alive and probably shouldn't be stuck in a 45g... Some nudibranches do but I'm not sure which (never used one)...

I just had 2 aiptasia's crop up in my 75g and nuked em with Red Sea's aiptasia-x..having used Joe's Juice in the past, I like the Red Sea better. It's suppose to "close" the mouth off so they can't spit spores to reproduce... They've been dead for 48 hours now (and everything else lived) but I have no idea how many I'll have in a week.

I just got a couple of peppermint shrimp that ate about 5 small ones and one giant one in 2 nights.

oooh yeah those work too! Forgot about those. I had a couple in my 150g that I had a few years back and they were great.

peppermint shrimp are my first choice, relatively cheap and quite effective in most scenarios.

I also have success with peppermint shrimp. Mine will take care of the small ones, but not touch the big ones. I siphoned out the bigger ones and haven't seen any since. Keep in mind that it may take them a few days before you see any difference. I gave them a little help by siphoning out any that I could see for a few days. Now, I haven't seen any in quite awhile.

Its great to hear you guys had sucess with the shrimp, lol oddly enough they never worked for me, i ended up mixing up some kalkwasser to the consistancy of toothpaste and injecting them with it,

Peppermint shrimp, copperband, kliens butterfly will all eat aptasia. Kliens may nip corals, but no more than a dwarf angel

Copperband butterflies, peppermint shrimp & kalkwasser. I've used all the above in my tank and the Cooperband took care of it. I have a 100 gallon tank so this wasn't an issue for me...still have the Cooperband which eats mysis now that all of the Aptasia are gone.
You do need a bigger tank for this fish though..

Berghia nudibranches is what I am going to go with. I have been doing some research and they seem to be a good candidate to try. They are a little pricey though.

my peppermint shrimp has not done a thing. i have moved on to kalkwasser mix. i might have to boost up the mixture tho.

Kleins butterfly....... eradicated my aptasia farm.

I've used kalk paste, but got tired of the work, plus, I cant hit the aiptasia in the crevices. I've used peps. They work, but too slow. I've switched to Berghia Nudibranchs. Supposedly, they will readily spawn in the tank, but was told it may take some time to see the differnce. Apparently, once they do, they will decimate a tank full of aiptasia. Once that happens, the LFS has agreed to take them and give me store credit.

I had a kleins and he nipped at every sps. He did take care of all the aiptasia in 1 day. I took him out on day 2. My point is if you decide to use a kleins, expect it to nip at sps.

Well, CBB may or may not eat aiptasia. Kleins will but may eat other things of value. Berghia will. The proper species of peppermint shrimp will.
