Aptasia Zapper DIY Question

I've looked at all the plans to build these on line, some say the Negative lead goes to the Needle, and some say the Positive lead. I have 2 Schematic's pulled from the Net, and they each show a different hook up. So...... Which one is correct?

I would be interested in the 2 you have I would like to make one also

Both would cause current to flow when the circuit is completed by the target, which way doesn't seem to matter to me.

I used positive on the needle I never seen any gas production on the negative but I wasn't looking for it ether

I just put one together as well, Positive to the Needle.

It's all on the Net. Google DIY Aptasia Zapper. If you run the search thru Google images, two crude Schematics come up. Then the usual Google web search will give you plenty of Builds.
