Hey.
I am putting this topic in this forum because aptasia is said to be an anemone. I have had a recent outbreak. 4 heads of aptasia. I took the rock out of the tank. I am hoping i got the only pieces that were in there. I was very careful not to disturb the aptasia so it would not reseed anywhere else. what can I do with these pieces of rock to kill the aptasia. i am not oposed to letting these pieces totally dry out. but would rather not have to do that

I have a new tank and noticed 1 aptasia pop up. I got a peppermint shrimp and the next day when I got home from work the aptasia was gone!

If you don't want to dry out your rock totally get joes juice or your LFS should have a paste... Mama something sorry I don't know the name. But you can put the paste right on the spot and it kills it no problem without disrupting anything else in your tank! Good luck!

All I can find on that paste is kallwasser. .. This one will raise ph slightly but ask you LFS for the other one. Good luck!

Cherubfish.... If you leave any of the stock on the rock. even just a pin head it will regrow. It may take months but it will. I dont suggest distubing it in your tank at all or you may have an explosion of aptasia very fast. Its like a manitoba maple. it regenerates and spreads very fast.

I use boiling hot water with just a few drops of lemon juice and a syringe. Squirt them a few times and goodbye Aptasia.
