I had quite a bit in my sump so I put 10-12 peppermint shrimp in my sump. It was slow work but they got them all. I moved 1/2 to my DT. They are funny things and end up everywhere in your tank (in a good way) usually only see them at night but no aiptasia

I've never found a way to kill all of them reliably. Berghia usually will get almost all of them, and then starve to death. Peppermint shrimp worked well, and don't starve to death. A laser would work, but they can cause eye damage.

I have had great success with peppermint shrimp. One in each tank (10 and 29 gallon) and I have not seen aptasia since I added them. Just make sure there’s nothing in your tank that will go after the shrimp

Agree on the shrimp but i have a 6 line , yellow coris lepoard wrasse and a Harlaquin tusk wouldn't the eat them and nudies if i go that route

5 years ago I had a lots of aptasia in my 125 g tank. Bought a copper band butterfly. First week he took care of all the feather dusters, 2nd week all the spaghetti worms and after that he went for the aptasia. Since then I can not see any aptasia in my thank. I still have the cbb, he's eating frozen food and a little bit of pellets.
I wouldn't trust the yellow corris. I had 2, they eat 3 adult cleaner shrimps.

I've used aptasia eating file fish and they worked great. Don't see any more aptasia. I tried peppermint shrimp but they didn't do much. The only issue I have with the file fish is that they eat all the polp type corals like zoanthids. I consider that a fair price to pay to be rid of the pests since I was ready to get out of the hobby because of it.

File fish sometimes pick on corals, so they are a bit of a gamble in a reef tank. Same for copper band butterflyfish. Also, they sometimes don't eat Aiptasia.
