aptasia's

Hey the first few times I used my Joe's Juice it worked good, now it doesn't seem to be working anymore. Is there another method to getting rid of aptiasia's?

#1 peppermint shrimp

#2 pickling lime/kalk paste and smear it over the aiptasia, leave the rock out for a few minutes, rinse off and replace inside tank

#3 hot water mixed with pickling lime (kalk) and inject into mouth with a needle

I've had success with all 3, the first one being the nicest...if the shrimps survive my royal gramma :( #3 being the easiest

for those who use peppermints...do you have to supplement feed it at all?

i've been for hte most part leaving the peppermints alone assuming they'll eat the aiptasias (and hopefully nothing else).

oh another thing...these shrimps will definitely not tackle the bigger aiptasias.

what I usually do is blast it with a good amount of kalk...then I tank superglue and glue right over it using a toothpick or skewer. been doing that for 6 months now....so far so good!

Get a syringe from your local vet, boil a cup of water in the microwave, stick the aptasia and slowly squeeze the hot water in it. Works every time!

No, they're scavenger's they'll eat whatever. I have 2 in my nano (with 3 other shrimp) and 2 in my 55. They're all doing fine, and no aptasia.

if they're not eating aiptasia what else are they scavenging for? or is it just a nice equilibrium that aiptasias come out and they eat and clean the aiptasias.

I successfully use boiled distilled vinegar injected anywhere neat the
buggers.... works every time the first time. Dennis

Exactly what do you tell them you will use it for?
Pharmacists will look at you funny...:lmao:

I don't know how people are successful using peppermint shrimps...

I have been through at least three batches of them and they have not been able to make a dent in the aiptaisia population...at least that I could see.

Berghia? "Disappeared" both times I added them...

Joes juice/kalk? The punks keep regenerating themselves and come back.

SuperNerd?...

I got rid of them but did cost me $250 and they will never come back untill this he decides to leave my tank. GOLDFLAKE ANGEL well worth the $250.....IMO reef safe with the exeption of botton polyps with long eyelashes
